A Look at the Golden Ducks / Primaries from this year
The Primary (or Golden Duck) theme has always been associated with our fundraising. Our members pay an annual subscription of only $40.00, however, when membership renewal notices are forwarded to them, they are also requested to pay tax deductable ‘fines’ (donations) of $5.00 per primary scored throughout the previous year by Australian players in Test Matches, One Day Internationals or Twenty20 matches.

The One Day Series vs Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates
In the only Twenty20 match against Pakistan, at Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium on 7 May 2009 (20-over match), Andrew Symonnds joined the elite club who are features below.
In the penultimate innings of the 2008-09 one-day season, game 4 of the one-day series against Pakistan on the 1st May 2009, played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, Brad Haddin joined the ranks of Australian Primarians.

Mitchell Johnson scored a Golden Duck against South Africa in the first innings of the Second Test in Durban, on 7th March 2009.
And in the words of www.cricinfo.com – “What was Mitch thinking? It was full, it was straight and Mitchell decides its time to shoulder arms. Dead duck”.
Mike Hussey scored a Golden Duck in the 2nd innings of the first test against South Africa at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, on 28th February 2009
Ben Hilfenhaus (in his first innings ever)
Ben Hilfenhaus scored a Golden Duck against South Africa in the first innings of the First Test at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, on 27th February 2009.
Sean Tait was run out for a duck after facing only 1 delivery in the 3rd One Day Internationl against South Africa on the 23rd January 2009. The Primary Club of Australia are counting this as a Golden Duck.
Ricky Ponting received a golden duck versus South Africa on the 3rd January 2009 in the first innings of the Sydney Test.
Ricky Ponting also received a golden duck versus South Africa on 17 December 2008 in the first innings of the Perth Test
Matthew Hayden received a golden duck versus New Zealand on 21 November 2008 in the second innings of the Brisbane Test.
Brett Lee was bowled by Zaheer Khan in the 2nd Test against India on the 21st October at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh .
Against Bangladesh in Darwin at the Marrara Cricket Ground on 30 August 2008 in the One Day series – Mitchell Johnson scored (or didn’t score) … a Golden Duck.
