Pat Cummins

Pat is best known as an Aussie international fast bowler and the current Captain of the Australian Men’s Test and One Day cricket teams.

Recognised early in his career as a standout player, Pat became a Test fixture from 2017/2018 season. He has several cricketing accolades including being ranked as No 1. ICC Test Bowler for the last four years, winning the coveted Allan Border Medal as the 2018/2019 Men’s Cricketer of the Year and in the same year the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year.

Winning highlights include the 2015 Cricket World Cup and the 2021 inaugural ICC T20 World Cup. As the 47th Captain of Australia Pat led the winning team for 2021/2022 Ashes on home soil followed by the Test tour against Pakistan on their home soil after a 24 year spell. He also captained Australia when they won the 2023 inaugural ICC World Test Championship.

In his position as Australian Captain and as an international player Pat appreciates that he has a responsibility to use his position for the good of others, and to be a good role model and a great leader. 

As an ambassador for the Primary Club of Australia since November 2018, Pat happily supports and shines the light on the incredible work that the Primary Club is doing.  He is impressed each year by the outstanding applicants for the Sir Roden Cutler Awards who deserve to be recognised for the contribution to their sports and who continue to inspire others to take up the challenges that sport and life offers them.
